This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:

Primary objectives:

To assess the effects of self-management interventions for adults living with HIV in improving quality of life, psychological health outcomes, and health status.

 

Secondary objectives:

1.       To determine the effect of self-management programs on activity levels, health care utilisation, risk-taking behaviour, and experience of symptoms

2.       To compare the effectiveness of different types of programmes, including delivery by lay person or healthcare professional.
