This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:
The aim of this systematic review is to assess the effects of antimicrobials in treating both empirical and organism-specific chronic AIDS-associated diarrhoea among adults. The rationale for this broad combination is because morecases of diarrhoea in HIV are found in resource-limited settings where facilities for culture-based therapies do not exist.
