This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:
The objective of this review is to determine if using magnesium treatment/prophylaxis provides a net benefit outcome of decrease in the severity, duration, and progression of symptoms of AWS without increase in serious adverse events compared to no treatment/prophylaxis in hospitalised patients with AWS or who are at risk of developing AWS.
