This Cochrane Review is at the protocol stage and there is no abstract or plain language summary. The objectives for the review are as follows:
To assess the effectiveness of prehospital clinical pathways compared with standard processes, on delivery of patients with acute stroke to specialist care in time for definitive treatment to be implemented.
In particular, we will assess the effects of clinical pathways on organizational aspects such as transportation to the appropriate hospital, (accurate diagnosis and interventions, timely treatments).
