Not enough evidence to show whether spontaneous labour, or induced labour or caesarean at 37 weeks is better in a twin pregnancy.
The optimal timing of birth for women with a twin pregnancy at term is uncertain, with clinical support for both elective delivery at 37 weeks, or waiting for labour to start spontaneously. A single trial was identified, involving 36 women with a twin pregnancy at term. There were no statistically significant differences between the two policies. The trial was too small to be sure that there are no clinically important differences. More research is needed.
