This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:
To assess the effectiveness of antacids, alginates, lifestyle advice and combinations compared to each other and placebo in the maintenance therapy of ENRD and reflux oesophagitis.
To compare the incidence of adverse effects associated with the different treatments.
